About Nasarawa

Occurrence  


Nasarawa lithium is found in the LCT (lithium-cesium-tantalum) pegmatites of the Nasarawa area. These pegmatites are located within the Middle Benue Trough of Nigeria and are associated with other minerals such as tantalite, columbite, and tin.

Exploration


Exploration for Nasarawa lithium began in the 1950s by the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA). In recent years, there has been renewed interest in exploring and exploiting the mineral due to its increasing demand in the global market.

Reserves


The exact amount of Nasarawa lithium reserves is currently unknown, but it is believed to be significant. According to a report by the NGSA, the pegmatites in the Nasarawa area have an estimated reserve of 1.2 million tons of lithium ore.

Use of Lithium
